Þórsmörk is located just north of the small glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Among the scenic locations there are; the 458-metre high Valahnjúkur just west of the hut is a popular climb and Goðaland ('land of the gods') which is a rugged area southeast of the Þórsmörk hut.
Getting there: You can take the BSÍ bus which leaves its terminal in Reykjavík at 8:30AM and reaches Húsadalur (about 2km west of the Þórsmörk hut) at noon. It returns home around 3:30 in the afternoon. There is also a special weekend bus on Friday nights that leaves Reykjavík around 8PM during the summer.
